The Ninth Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) in Copenhagen will feature four roundtable discussions between Ministers/Heads of Delegation and senior executives from the private sector that will facilitate candid discussions on pressing issues facing the low-carbon transition.
This year’s roundtable topics include:
- Policies to drive action and investment towards a sustainable buildings transition,
- Innovative solutions for managing energy use and emissions from industry,
- Corporate sourcing of renewable energy, and
- Results of the Advanced Power Plant Flexibility Campaign.
Each year, these roundtable discussions offer a unique dimension to the CEM by bringing together senior officials from both the public and private sectors to dig deep on clean energy issues as members work together towards a low-carbon energy future. This year, as a new feature of the roundtables, participants will be asked to make specific recommendations to inform future work of the CEM as a way to drive action.
Roundtable organizers are planning sessions that are regionally diverse to ensure balanced perspectives. Each roundtable will include approximately 20 participants to so conversations are focused and productive.
Confirmation from senior private sector executives has already been received from companies and organizations such as Ikea, Google, Vestas, Danfoss, Velux Group, CEMEX, Envision, Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Envision, Rockwool Group, and the World Green Building Council, among others.
